Attention all underclassmen do you think you have what it takes to be a leader who spreads school spirit? If the answer is yes, then stop by L-209 or go to the school website to download an application because student council elections are on their way!

The application deadline will be May 16th and must be turned in at the stuco meeting after school in L-209.

“Election season is always an exciting time. We expect plenty of well-qualified candidates to join the race,” student council advisor J. Aaron Lozano, said.

The following Monday, campaigning will officially began and all students running for office will get the chance to reach out to their classes and encourage them to vote. Elections will be held on the last day of school and announced over the intercom, social media, and The Memorialist.

Positions available are student body president, vice president, recording secretary, corresponding secretary, treasurer, parliamentarian, historian, and reporter. Class offices are also available for each of those positions.

Each council will have their own duties. Freshman and sophomore councils are responsible for creating their class shirts and fundraising. Junior council members will organize prom, seniors run events for the graduating class and the general council oversees all the other councils.

All councils have the same duty: to bring school spirit to PSJA Memorial.
